About the FOXBORO FBM242 P0916NG I/A Series DIN Mount Base

The FBM242 P0916NG Discrete Output Module is designed to manage industrial control systems effectively, featuring 16 discrete output channels that are externally sourced and capable of handling up to 2 A at 60 V dc. These channels are complemented by associated termination assemblies (TAs) that facilitate discrete outputs for loads of 2 A at 60 V dc, as well as relay outputs for 120 V ac/125 V dc or 240 V ac, with options for power distribution and fusing. Each output channel is fully isolated from others and ground to ensure signal integrity and prevent interference. The module serves as an interface between the control processor’s electrical output signals and field devices, executing digital I/O applications with ladder logic support and offering a Fail-Safe Configuration for the outputs.

In addition to its primary functions, the FBM242 module supports HART universal commands, which are essential for interfacing field devices with the I/A Series® system database. It boasts a compact, rugged design suitable for Class G3 (harsh) environments, ensuring durability and reliability. High accuracy is achieved through sigma-delta data conversions for each channel. The module also accommodates termination assemblies (TAs) for connecting field wiring locally or remotely to the FBM214, and for internally and/or externally loop-powered transmitters on a per-channel basis, enhancing its versatility and utility in industrial settings.

COMPACT DESIGN
The FBM module features a compact design, enhanced by a rugged extruded aluminum exterior that provides physical protection for the circuits. This robust construction allows the module to be mounted in enclosures that offer various levels of environmental protection, including those suitable for harsh environments (Class G3) as per the ISA Standard S71.04.

MODULAR BASEPLATE MOUNTING
For installation, the module is mounted on a Modular baseplate, which is designed for DIN rail mounting. This baseplate has the capacity to accommodate up to four or eight Fieldbus Modules. Additionally, the Modular baseplate can be either DIN rail mounted or rack mounted, and it includes signal connectors for redundant Fieldbus, redundant independent dc power, and termination cables, ensuring a versatile and efficient mounting solution
