About the Emerson AMS 6500 ATG(A6500-UM) Universal Measurement Card
The A6500-UM Universal Measurement Card is a key component of the AMS 6500 ATG machinery protection system, offering a wide range of measurement capabilities for various industrial sensors. It features two sensor input channels that can be configured for independent or combined measurements, supporting common sensor types such as eddy-current, piezoelectric (accelerometer or velometer), seismic (electro-dynamic), LF (low-frequency bearing vibration), Hall-effect, and LVDT sensors (when used with the A6500-LC).
The card is equipped with five digital inputs and six digital outputs, allowing flexible integration into control systems. Measured signals are transmitted via an internal RS-485 bus to the A6500-CC Com Card, which converts the data into Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP/IP protocols for communication with host computers or analysis systems. The Com Card also provides USB connectivity for PC/laptop communication, enabling configuration and visualization of measurement data.
Additionally, the A6500-UM card features analog outputs (0/4 - 20 mA), which are electrically isolated from the system supply and share a common ground. These outputs allow easy integration into external systems for further data processing.
The A6500-UM operates within the A6500-SR System Rack, which supplies the necessary voltages and connects the measurement signals. The card supports a variety of monitoring functions, including:
