Installation of DCS system
DCS system consists of hardware and software. Hardware installation of DCS system includes installation of panels, cabinets, machines and wiring between them, system working grounding, installation of power supply and basic control parts, safety grounding and isolation.
External conditions for DCS system installation
1. Control room and operation room should meet the use conditions:
Before installation, the civil engineering, installation, electrical and decoration projects of the control room and operation room must be completed, the interior decoration must meet the design requirements, the air conditioner must be enabled, and equipped with a vacuum cleaner;
The ambient temperature, humidity, lighting and air purification level must meet the operating conditions of the DCS system before unpacking and installation.
2. Requirements for installers:
Installers must keep clean and must wear clean special slippers when working in the control room or operation room to prevent dust from entering the DCS system device;
Try to avoid the influence of electrostatic induction on system components. During debugging, do not wear chemical fiber and other fabrics that are prone to static electricity. (Please refer to the issues often overlooked by automatic control engineers - static electricity & moisture-sensitive protection)
Transportation and installation of machines, cabinets and trays
Machines, cabinets and trays are required to be transported to the control room as a whole and unpacked before installation.
Care must be taken when transporting, unpacking and handling DCS system hardware packaging boxes to prevent tipping and strong vibration to avoid accidental losses.
When unpacking, personnel from the equipment supply department and personnel from the receiving, maintenance and inspection departments should be present to jointly check the appearance quality, defects in the wiring of the internal card parts of the equipment, documents and materials brought by the system, etc., and keep records and sign for confirmation.
The DCS system control room usually has an anti-static and moisture-proof floor of about 500mm, so the base height should be considered and its stability and strength should be guaranteed.
Grounding and installation of grounding system
DCS system has high requirements for grounding, which are generally divided into:
Intrinsically safe grounding
System DC working grounding
Protective grounding of AC power supply
Safety protection grounding, etc.
Various grounding systems and grounding busbars are insulated from each other.
Each grounding system can be connected to its own busbar and grounding electrode only after checking that there is no mixed line.
The system DC working grounding requirements are the highest, and different systems have different requirements. The resistance value generally cannot exceed 1Ω, so the grounding electrode must be installed.
The grounding requirements for other systems are that the grounding resistance is less than 4Ω.
The safety protection grounding can be connected to the ground network of the entire plant system.
