The TK-3E Proximity System Test Kit is an essential tool for calibrating Bently Nevada monitors by simulating shaft vibration and position. This kit ensures the accuracy of transducer inputs and monitor readings, verifying the operating condition of both the monitor readouts and the proximity transducer system.

The TK-3E features a removable spindle micrometer assembly for checking the transducer system and position monitor calibration. This assembly includes a universal probe mount that accommodates probe diameters ranging from 5 mm to 19 mm (0.197 in to 0.75 in). The mount allows users to move the target toward or away from the probe tip in calibrated increments and record the output from the Proximitor Sensor using a voltmeter. Additionally, the spindle micrometer assembly has a magnetic base for convenient field use.

For calibrating vibration monitors, the TK-3E uses a motor-driven wobble plate. A swing-arm assembly, equipped with the same universal probe mount used in the spindle micrometer assembly, holds the proximity probe over the wobble plate. By adjusting the probe using the absolute scale factor and a multimeter, users can achieve the desired amount of mechanical vibration without the need for an oscilloscope.

The mechanical vibration signal generated by the TK-3E ranges from 50 to 254 μm (2 to 10 mils) peak-to-peak. Users can compare the vibration monitor’s reading to the known mechanical vibration signal input viewed by the proximity probe, ensuring the system’s accuracy and reliability.
