About The ABB SPA-ZC 402 Ethernet Adapter

SPA-ZC 402 is a communication adapter that provides Ethernet connectivity for protection and control equipment. This device is no longer active as of 2022. It supports Ethernet based protocols and standards such as IEC 61850, SPA TCP/IP and Modbus TCP/IP. SPA-ZC 402 acts as a communication adapter between the SPA bus and the IEC 61850-8-1 station bus, mapping the SPA protocol interface to the IEC 61850-8-1 standard, thus enabling products with an optical SPA interface to be connected to IEC 61850 based networks, both for new and retrofit installations.
